Every time you take your 3rd Gen 4Runner offroad, you run the risk of damaging it. These risks range from broken CV axles to complete rollovers. While we cannot prevent some of these accidents, we can be prepared for them. A roll cage is a perfect addition to any vehicle that gets off-camber or airborne on a regular basis!
As time goes on, the lines are slowly blurring between the “weekend warrior” overland builds and “hardcore wheeler” rock crawlers and prerunners. So we wanted to design a cage that would accommodate both ends of this spectrum.
The Scarab Offroad Roll Cage Kit is the most tightly developed roll cage on the market for our 3rd Gen 4Runners. Its tubing snakes into the body panels and hugs the walls of your vehicle as tightly as possible, to ensure you maintain the maximum amount of space for your passengers and cargo.
Installation is complicated and requires a professional welder, as well as disassembly of a large portion of the interior of your vehicle, and some minor cutting to allow the tubing to pass through your dash. But it is well worth the safety benefits of having an eight-point roll cage!
