IN STOCK READY TO SHIP.

Reduce wear on your transmission by keeping temperatures under control! Featuring a "no-drill" install utilizing existing holes for an easy install process, these CNC pressbroke .125" thick 5052 Aluminum brackets make your transmission cooler upgrade a breeze. Compatible with all automatic transmission 1st Gen (1995-2004) Tacomas.

This custom kit utilizes the Hayden 678 and 698 transmission coolers. Both Hayden coolers are identical in size, but the 698 is equipped with an internal temperature bypass which helps the fluid get up to operating temperature faster (great for colder climates). More info available here: Hayden Bypass Technology.

Watch the attached installation/review video in the media above! (video is for 3rd Gen 4Runners but most of the info applies)

1st Gen Tacoma Cooler, worth it!

The installation for the cooler wasn’t too complicated, but you do need to know line flow direction. The Hayden instructions are very generic and not specific for the Toyota Tacoma. No one has produced a YouTube video yet showing the installation for 95-04 Tacoma’s. The closest one I could find was for a 4Runner. My 2001 Tacoma has a hidden winch mount, so this made the bottom bolts of the cooler bracket difficult to install. I ended up removing the entire front bumper to gain access. Routing the hoses was straight forward. The downside is the kit gives you 2 sizes of hoses. You will need the 3/8” hose for the Tacoma. Unfortunately there is not enough 3/8” hose provided to do both the supply & return. I had to purchase 5ft of it from my local auto parts store. The highlight of this kit is how well it cools. I took my truck for a test drive and discovered I was running approximately 30 degrees cooler than before. My Tacoma is equipped with a transmission temp monitoring gauge. I look forward to seeing how well it cools when climbing steep grades in 4wd. I recommend this cooler kit for any Tacoma/4Runner.
