THE PROBLEM: This kit addresses one of the biggest design flaws on our 5VZFE powertrains: the haphazard low-hanging radiator... It extends several inches down past the frame ready to get smacked, while also sacrificing your front end ground clearance and approach angle. Whether you are an off-roader or not, this is simply not a risk worth taking. We have seen many front end collisions (even minor on-road "fender benders") that have left people stranded waiting for a tow... and it was easily preventable. What a waste.

THE SOLUTION: The HCR kit replaces your basic thin, vulnerable radiator with a high performance unit that mounts above your frame rails, where it should have been from the start! With a full aluminum construction and deeper body, this radiator dramatically improves your cooling performance due to increased fluid capacity and heat dissipation efficiency. And with a rating up to 550 horsepower, it can handle anything our 5VZ pigs can throw at it! This is a complete, bolt-on kit with an easy install process.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Coolant- To prevent premature wear on your radiator, Champion recommends Ethylene-based yellow/green coolant & distilled water only. Peak 10X is a great choice, as it is formulated to work with all vehicles and cooling systems, and has been thoroughly tested to work with these all-aluminum radiators. Using other coolant types can potentially affect your warranty. While "Asian Red" and "Toyota Pink" coolants are Ethylene-based, they have been known to cause issues, and are discouraged for this setup.
• Fan Shroud- Your factory shroud is reusable for this kit! However, there will be excess length at the bottom. It can be easily trimmed off with a razor blade to match the height of the new radiator, if you prefer.
• Maintenance- Overheating issues can be caused by a number of problems (dirty fluid, broken water pump, fan clutch, thermostat...) so don't expect a nice new radiator to fix your problem if something else is being neglected. Your cooling system is just that, a system. So treat it as such and maintain it!
